Choosing Your Course
AT RTSFC, THERE ARE MANY OPTIONS OPEN TO YOU WHEN IT COMES TO CHOOSING YOUR COURSE AND WE LOOK FORWARD TO HELPING YOU BUILD A STUDY PROGRAMME THAT SUITS YOUR PERSONAL INTERESTS AND FUTURE PLANS.
Level 3 Study Programme
A Levels
These are subject-based qualifications. They are studied over two years and are typically assessed by examinations.
Vocational
These qualifications are related to broad employment areas. They are studied over two years and are assessed by written and practical examinations.
Combination
Your study programme can be made up of A Levels courses, vocational courses, or a mixture of both.
Your Level 3 study programme will last for two years and will be made up of three A Levels or the vocational equivalent. Please note that vocational courses are divided into three categories:
- Single award (equivalent to one A Level)
- Double award (equivalent to two A Levels)
- Triple award (equivalent to three A Levels).
Both A Level and vocational courses can be used to access university, employment, or further education.
To join a Level 3 study programme, you will need to have at least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language. Some courses have additional requirements, so be sure to check each course individually.

LEVEL 2 STUDY PROGRAMME
Our Level 2 courses are for students who are keen to study at Level 3, but have not met the entry requirements yet. This programme of study will help you develop your study skills and subject knowledge so that you can feel confident about taking your next steps.
Level 2 courses are studied over one year and will incorporate a vocational course (equivalent to two GCSEs). We will also support you in working towards resitting your GCSE in English Language and/or Maths.
To begin a Level 2 programme of study, you must have at least four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English Language.
