Future Focused Pathways
Because we care about you and the life you’ll go on to, we have developed six career pathways to help you prepare for what you want to do after sixth form college.
Each one shows what career options might lead from that pathway, and if you’re not sure about which subjects to choose, you’ll be able to see which subjects can give you the best chance of getting to that desired end point.
It may be that you don’t yet know what your ultimate career aim is – that’s okay too because the pathways are interchangeable and contain the same core elements that make up your tutorial programme.
The pathways are defined by student intention and designed to open up opportunity and most importantly they are designed to help us guide you.
We are lucky to have employer ambassadors attached to each pathway who visit the college regularly to talk about careers and university choices. You’ll get the opportunity to talk over your ambitions with them and take advantage of their experience.
BUSINESS & GLOBAL

From go-getters to deep thinkers, ideas people to grafters and social butterflies to mathematical wizards, a business needs a whole cast of characters to thrive. CREATIVE & DIGITAL
WE ARE LOOKING FOR PEOPLE WITH A SPECIAL SPARK WHO ARE SEEKING SOMEWHERE TO SHINE.
Our creative pathway covers a whole range of disciplines, from design to dance and fine art to front of stage. Our Art students show their work in public places, our dance students perform in major competitions and our music students express themselves on multiple platforms.
Then again you may be brilliant at IT so pursuing this path could lead you to a fantastic career in a major digital business.

LIFE & HEALTH SCIENCES
IF YOU ARE THE KIND OF PERSON WHO IS DRIVEN TO USE SCIENCE AND LEARNING TO MAKE LIFE BETTER FOR PEOPLE THEN A MEDICAL CAREER IS FOR YOU.
This pathway unlocks a huge number of opportunities in the medical profession, including doctor, nurse, veterinary, occupational health, medical scientist, dentist or researcher. Our learning works in tandem with renowned organisations who offer students the chance to experience first hand what a career in medicine or science might be like.
PUBLIC SERVICE
A PATHWAY FOR THOSE DEVOTED TO SERVING THEIR COMMUNITY OR EVEN THEIR COUNTRY.
Our courses offer opportunities ranging from the legal profession to joining the armed forces or being part of the police service. If you are interested in sport, this pathway is designed to steer you towards your career. This pathway also includes a range of humanities subjects such as history, geography and sociology, which all contribute to your experience.
EDUCATION & CHILDCARE
CARING FOR CHILDREN, INSPIRING YOUNG MINDS AND MAKING THEIR WORLD A SAFE PLACE.
This is a calling for some people and the opportunities this pathway presents will help you to work with children, inform policies on childcare and even teach. Relevant and challenging work placements will help set you on the path to a fulfilling career in teaching, managing or administration in schools, nurseries or other part of the education and childcare sector.
PHYSICAL & BUILT ENVIRONMENT
FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN A CAREER FOCUSED ON ENGINEERING OR SCIENCE BASED JOBS.
Careers in science and engineering involve analysing complex problems to develop solutions. Professionals may work in labs to find cures for diseases or in corporate offices developing cityscapes.
