THIS COURSE COVERS A WIDE RANGE OF TOPICS TO GIVE STUDENTS A GENERAL MATHEMATICAL KNOWLEDGE. THAT CAN BE APPLIED ACROSS A WIDE VARIETY OF CAREERS AND FURTHER COURSES.
This course is for students who have not yet achieved a grade 4 in GCSE Maths at school.
Topics Include:
- Number work: e.g. Fractions, percentages
- Algebra: e.g. Formulae, equations of graphs
- Ratio & proportion
- Geometry & measure: e.g. Area, volume, angles, pythagoras’ theorem
- Probability
- Statistics: e.g. Charts, graphs, averages
Further Study Options:
Students gaining a grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics may progress onto Core Maths at Level 3.
Career Options:
Many careers and apprenticeships require a grade 4 in Maths GCSE.
