LEARN HOW PEOPLE’S LIVES ARE AFFECTED BY THE WORLD IN WHICH WE LIVE AND EXPLORE THE BIG ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES THAT CHALLENGE OUR FUTURE.

On this course, you will study both physical and human geography. By carrying out an investigation on a topic of your choice, as well as participating in at least four days of fieldwork, you will develop your skills in research and data analysis.

Topics Include:

  • Water and carbon cycles
  • Contemporary urban environments
  • The concept of ‘place’ and how it influences human lives
  • Global governance
  • Glacial systems and landscapes.

Career Options:

GIS consultant, graduate manager, royal marines officer, geoinformation technology operator, disaster management specialist, environmental scientist, geologist, surveyor, sustainable development professional.

University Options:

Geography, Oceanography, Geology, Geographic Information Systems, Urban and Regional Planning, Demography, International Relations, Law, Environmental Science.

Course Requirements

At least five GCSEs at grade 5 or above, including English Language and Maths. A GCSE in Geography is not required.
