Why did you choose to study at Richard Taunton?
It is a smaller college than most which I initially liked and on visiting the college on the open day, I felt at home and all the staff were lovely and welcoming.
What has been your favourite subject and why?
I have really enjoyed Chemistry over the last two years, especially having such two supportive teachers that are able to help if we reach an obstacle. The content of the course is so interesting and I haven’t had a dull lesson in the two years of study!
What’s been the best thing about studying at Richard Taunton?
I have made unforgettable memories throughout the two years, had the most amazing teachers I could have asked for, and made friends I will have for a lifetime.
How has the college supported you through your studies?
The one -to-ones are an important aspect of support and enables you to talk freely with the teacher about your concerns and where you want to put particular focus.
What have been your highlights of your time at college?
My highlights of college are the Operating Theatre Live days during year one as it was so interesting and a hands on experience, the Twilight session at Southampton University as it allowed us to use specialised equipment and carry out chemistry at a higher level, and New York which was the best trip I have been on by far!
What advice would you give students who will be starting college in September?
My advice would be to not worry about knowing people in your classes because everyone is in the same situation and are all just as nervous about not being with their friends as you are, but you will soon make lots of new friends that are in your classes.
