Open Events
open event dates 2026/27
Our open days enable you to find out more about college life at Richard Taunton and talk to staff and students about the courses on offer. You can come alone or with friends and/or family.
Dates and booking for our 2026/27 open days will be announced soon.
Why should I come to an open event?
Attending an open event is the one of the best ways to find out more about college life and the courses on offer. It can help you make an informed decision about the right courses for you, particularly if you are unsure of which direction to take after school.
We also welcome adults who wish to find out about our courses for adult learners.
What can I do at an open event?
- Explore the campus
- Find out about what it’s like to study at Richard Taunton and the opportunities available to you
- Get expert advice on how to apply to college
- Hear from Andy Grant (Executive Principal) at the Principal’s Talk
- Learn about the support available to you at college
- Speak to our students about what it’s like to study here
- Talk to our helpful teachers about the courses on offer and where they can lead.
Will filming and photography occur at this event?
Yes. Filming and photography will occur for the purpose of marketing the college. If you do not wish to feature in any, please speak to a member of staff.
How do I book?
We will share the link to book online here, when ready.

If you are in year 10, our taster day on 9 July 2026 is a great way to explore the college. You must attend with your school as a group, so please contact them to see if there is the chance to attend.
If you are in year 11 and have applied to the college, you will receive an invite to our applicant day on 26 June 2026. At this event, you will be a Richard Taunton student for the day, studying your courses.
