To help the college achieve its aims, the Local Governing Body is seeking motivated and committed people to serve as voluntary Parent Governors. Committee meetings are usually held during term-time only, and most take place in the early evening (5pm). The initial term of office is for two years. Additional training sessions are held from time to time and Governors are encouraged to take up training in areas including Health and Safety, Finance, Equality and Diversity and Child Protection.

Our mission is to ‘Raise the aspirations and achievements of students of all ages and abilities, by providing outstanding education’. By joining our Board of Governors you can help us to achieve our mission. This voluntary role brings many rewards and we are keen to involve people of all ages and backgrounds. We are committed to promoting equality of opportunity and diversity, and actively seek to recruit governors who possess the requisite skills. Who reflect the composition of staff, students and community, which we serve.

Governors are involved in promoting high standards of achievement and helping to plan the College’s long-term future. Governors also help to ensure that the College is accountable to its key stakeholders (students, parents, staff) and to its wider community.
