Preparing Students for the Workplace with National Apprenticeship Week
6th March 2018
We’ve a whole host of great activities lined up to mark this year’s National Apprenticeship Week. We’ll be joining schools and colleges across the country in promoting the great benefits of apprenticeships and in helping our students to get started on their career path.
With many top employers now offering apprenticeship schemes, apprenticeships are undoubtedly an advantageous alternative for students who choose not to go to university. Throughout the week, our students that are considering applying for apprenticeships will find valuable activities to support and guide their decisions. Here’s what we’ve got on offer…
Our students will have all the tools they need to get to grips with apprenticeships with our ‘All you Need to Know Guide’, available on our virtual learning network, Moodle.
We’ve invited industry professionals to give talks to our students, ranging from ‘Amazing Apprenticeships’ to the ‘Reluctant Networker’. These talks will give students useful insights to help them get their foot in the door of their chosen careers.
Apprenticeship Drop In Sessions
Students can benefit from a 1:1 meeting with our careers team to learn more about the apprenticeship route and the options available to them.
Our students are invited to attend an Apprenticeship Fair at Brockenhurst College, where they can meet local employers and see what placements they have to offer.
Apprentice Open Evening
Our students can also attend a local apprentice open evening with training provider 3aaa to find out more about the apprenticeships they are offering and take part in taster sessions to get a flavour of what being an apprentice is like.
