Summary

This Information & Creative Technology course is a stepping stone to the Level 3 IT course and consists of core units to give you a general foundation of ICT theory and specialist units to allow you to explore particular topics in depth. It is highly practical and you will learn by completing projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. You will develop your ICT skills, knowledge and understanding in ways that are relevant to employment situations, thereby enhancing your chances of employability and higher education if appropriate. You’ll also be required to undertake course-related work experience.

FURTHER COLLEGE STUDY OPTIONS:
Business or IT (Level 3).

Assessment and Qualification

  • The course has a mixture of assessment methods, written exams, controlled assessments, externally and internally assessed units.

  • BTEC Certificate (level two)
  • Equivalent to two GCSEs.

Course entry requirements

  • At least four GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English Language.

These extra items (such as equipment, study guides and workbooks etc.) are built into the normal day-to-day running of our courses and so we ask students to make an annual payment towards these additional costs.
