Summary

This one-year Health and Social Care course explores many aspects of health and social care including human development, body systems, care of disorders and care values. It is an ideal starting point for those interested in a future in nursing, midwifery, and social work or similar. This course is designed to prepare you for level 3 study as well as apprenticeships by giving a theoretical understanding of the health and social care sector. You will also be expected to complete course-related work experience.

POSSIBLE UNIVERSITY STUDY OPTIONS:
Nursing, Social Work, Childhood Studies, Occupational Therapy, Paramedic Science, Youth Studies.

FURTHER STUDY OPTIONS:
Health and Social Care (Single) Level 3, Health and Social Care (Triple) Level 3.

  • 75% coursework and 25% exam
  • Exam board: Pearson
  • BTEC First Certificate (level two)
  • Equivalent to two GCSEs.

Course entry requirements

At least three GCSEs at grade 3 or above, including English Language.

During your studies you will have access to extra materials and activities as part of your course. These extra items (such as equipment, study guides and workbooks etc.) are built into the normal day-to-day running of our courses and so we ask students to make an annual payment towards these additional costs.
