Mathematics – GCSE

Course Summary

This GCSE Maths course is for learners who want to strengthen their mathematical knowledge and skills and gain a nationally recognised qualification. The course covers a wide range of topics including number, algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, and ratio and proportion. Learners will develop skills in problem-solving, logical reasoning, and analytical thinking.

This is a one year course and will be delivered in person. This course is free subject to meeting eligibility criteria such as being aged 19 years or older.

Key Topics

Throughout the course you will cover maths topic such as; decimals, fractions and measurements.

The College requires an attendance rate of at least 90% to enable students to achieve and progress. You will be expected to attend weekly taught lessons. Homework will be given at regular intervals.

Assessment

Your tutor will provide feedback throughout the course, and there are two formal exams to complete, one non-calculator paper and one calculator exam.

Progression

This qualification equips students with the mathematical foundation needed for A-level studies, vocational training, pursue higher education, or improve their career prospects across various fields that require strong mathematical abilities.

Entry Requirements

While there are no strict entry requirements for this qualification, students will need to complete initial and diagnostic assessments in English and maths to determine the level of the course.
