Art & Design (Fine Art)
DRAWING, PAINTING, AND A DIVERSE RANGE OF MIXED-MEDIA TECHNIQUES ARE CREATIVELY EXPLORED TO AN ADVANCED LEVEL THROUGHOUT THIS COURSE.
You will be given the opportunity to develop the skills and ideas needed to create original and personal artwork. Using your first-hand experiences and researching other artists will also help you develop your body of work.
Topics Include:
- Observation and recording first-hand experiences
- Drawing, painting, and mixed-media techniques
- Artist research and analysis
- Preparatory studies: artist research, visual recording, creative experimentation, and personal ideas development.
Career Options:
Fine artist, illustrator, architect, animator, set-designer, museum/gallery worker, commercial artist.
University Options:
Art Foundation (pre-degree), Fine Art, Illustration, Architecture, Art History, Interior Design and Animation.
Course Requirements
At least five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language and Art. A suitable portfolio of artwork may be accepted as an alternative to GCSE Art.
