Richard Taunton Students Offered Places at Prestigious Conservatoires

The Music & Performing Arts department at RTSFC has a long-standing history of sending students to prestigious arts institutions. This year the tradition continues with some students receiving offers from multiple conservatoires.

Jordan Cambridge-Taylor, from Testwood Sports College, has been offered a place at Guildford School of Acting to study Musical Theatre. He has also been offered places at Arts Ed and Italia Conti. Of his time at RTSFC, Jordan said:

“The biggest highlight […] was performing ‘Chicago’. It was so exciting to be in a professional environment and perform with some of my best friends.”

Other successes include Maisy Carter, from Noadswood School, who has been offered a place at PPA to study Musical Theatre Foundation, and Emme Hudson, from Upper Shirley High School, who has been offered a place at London Studio Centre to study Musical Theatre. Emme was also offered places at Guildford School of Acting, Arts Ed, and Italia Conti.

Ellis Mitchell, from Crestwood Community College, has been offered a place at Guildford School of Acting. Reflecting on his time at RTSFC, Ellis said:

“I have performed at the Nuffield, Mayflower and Southampton Hub Theatre many times, met some incredible performers during industry week, watched some phenomenal shows across the country, and have even performed for local schools and Jacquelyn Ockwell. These vast variety of opportunities have opened my eyes into the hard work needed to gain a successful career in the performing industry while also massively boosting my drive and motivation to pursue my dream of becoming a film and stage actor.”

Four RTSFC students have secured places at BIMM, which is ‘the largest and leading provider of music education in Europe’. Caity Baser (from Thornden School), Jack Hodge (from Oasis Academy Mayfield), Milly Channell (from Redbridge Community School), and Louie Batchelor (from Regents Park Community College) have all been offered the chance to study Music at the Brighton-based college.
