One of our students, Jack Dowding (20) suffered from the condition juvenile diabetes for several years. Jack sadly died through complications relating to his illness just before completing his studies at the college.
A fund has been setup not only as a memory of him but also to spread awareness to others. Click here to read about Jack’s story and the foundation that his family has set up in his memory, and in support of juvenile diabetes research.
Supported by Jack’s Dad, Laurence, and as a tribute to Jack’s support and commitment to the sports around the college (especially football) a set of home and away dugout style benches are going to be erected in his honour. Once established a memorial football match will be played to celebrate his time here at the college.
Here’s an example of the type of dugout we are planning to install.
We are aiming to raise £4,000. So far we have secured £2,120! Just £1,880 to go!
Can you help? We would be grateful for any donations, small or large. All contributions will go towards the establishment of the benches – a lasting and fitting memory for Jack.
