We celebrate success
“I knew I was capable of good grades,” said Tim, formerly of Noadswood School. “But I think going to a smaller sixth form college, where I got a lot of one on one attention and smaller class sizes helped keep me on track.”
Tim achieved three A* grades in Maths, Further Maths and Physics, as well as an A grade in Chemistry. He is now going to study Physics at Imperial College London.
"I am totally shell shocked,” said Sorrel Clark, who achieved three A* grades in Further Maths, Maths and Physics and an A grade in Chemistry. “I have spent so long worrying that I wasn't going to pass and to get three A* grades is fantastic. The teachers at college have really supported me and you can tell they really care."
Sorrell, who formerly attended Regents Park Community College, is headed for Warwick University to study Mathematics.
Rebekah Hawkins, who previously attended Cantell Maths and Computing College, was celebrating her first ever A grades: Two A* grades in Sociology and Photography and an A grade in Textiles.
“The teachers at Richard Taunton Sixth Form saw something in me, and really believed I could do it. My sociology teacher was the first teacher to ever tell me I was capable of achieving an A grade. I’ve got much higher grades than I needed to get my place to study Photography at Arts University College Bournemouth.”
Ami Byrne’s mum was so excited when Ami opened her envelopes she was near tears at her daughter’s outstanding results: A* in Biology, A in Psychology and A in Chemistry. Ami previously attended Regents Park Community College.
“I’m going to study Biomedical Sciences at the University of Surrey. I chose Richard Taunton Sixth Form because it had a more friendly feel when I visited on open evening, and I was right – the teachers are really approachable and were always happy to answer any questions I had. I definitely felt the benefit of the small class sizes.”
